Its Sanskrit name, Tulasi, translates to "the incomparable one." This herb, a member of the mint family, carries immense power, wisdom, and a deep unlocking potential.
One of my teachers once told me that when you have a Tulsi plant, you must ensure it is raised and not kept in a pot on the ground. She embodies the goddess of wealth and generosity, a manifestation of the divine within. In India, most altars feature Tulsi. Her scent alone can transport you to a mystical place, but her properties are equally wondrous.
Tulsi is high in Sattva, the principle of light, perception, and clarity. It helps improve focus, attention, and mental clarity, thereby reducing brain fog and enhancing memory. It is an amazing herb to work with during the upcoming Mercury retrograde, if you feel called to do so. I invite you to take note of your spiritual abilities once you welcome her into your life.
